What the Preamble means to me is the foundation for our beliefs that are further outlined in the Constitution. It is our summarized statement for everything that we hope to accomplish as a nation. We know that a "perfect Union" is not possible, but we have laid the groundwork for achieving something close to it. To push for peace, to defend our freedom, and care for our own as well as future generations. That is why I believe our nation has continued to change for the better.
This video perfectly embodies what we are looking to do in our current generation. Obama attempts to pull together the nation, despite our very different lives, to pursue that common goal we are looking for which is to better our nation and move forward. He also nails the point home that we are doing this for future generations, albeit we still have huge racial tensions, we were still able to change so much already.
Section 1. After one year from the ratification of this article the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors within, the importation thereof into, or the exportation thereof from the United States and all territory subject to the jurisdiction thereof for beverage purposes is hereby prohibited.
