Amendment 19: Women have the right to vote

The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

An incredibly important change in the history of our nation, already allowing blacks to vote, women were still left out. This ensured that women were able to vote as well and influence the government right alongside men. This is a right that had been strenuously fought for by Women's Rights and other movements. It is a large shift again in the voting population as women make up a huge majority in our nation. It was another step in the right direction of including all people in our nation in the democratic process.

This explosive video is a singing history lesson that was well done explaining the role of Susan B. Anthony in the right to get women a chance to vote. Sadly she actually passed away before it was put into place but her contributions did not go unnoticed. It is important enough to vote, but as a female or minority, it reinforces the contributions so many before us gave up just to allow every citizen in our nation have a guaranteed right to go out and vote.

I found this video controversial in our current political climate because this is one of the last amendments I would see up for repeal. There was a video showing if only men could vote, which showed the vote favoring Trump. The situation is interesting to see that this is even being brought up, but nowadays anything is possible for questioning. In my opinion I would see the repeal of this as unconstitutional as our goal is to become a more united nation, and repealing the 19th seems like a huge step backward.
